Hearing from residents about our services means that we can continue evolving them to meet their needs.

That’s why we’re invested in ‘resident engagement’ – it’s a way you can get involved and share your voice with us.


How does it work?

Our friendly Resident Engagement team work with residents to get their views on services, housing issues, policies and more, which is used to influence changes inside and outside of Sovereign.

They do this online, in person, on the phone, via email… whatever works best for whoever’s involved!


And the best part about our resident engagement?

You can spend minutes or hours on it, depending on what level of involvement you choose!

I can scrutinise

 
I want to hear more about becoming a member of the Scrutiny Coordination Group (SCG), which meets six times a year (online or in person).

Resident scrutinies have changed how Sovereign lets it properties and the way anti-social behaviour support information is provided.

I want to influence Sovereign’s policies and strategy so I’d like to find out more about joining the Resident and Board Partnership (RBP), which meets six times a year (online or in person).

The RBP has been involved in giving feedback on the Housing White Paper and speaking at conferences.

I want to know more about getting involved in co-creating services, looking in-depth at how a service works and taking part in focus groups.

In the past, this has included co-creating the Homes and Place standard.

What will I get back from getting involved?

 
  • The opportunity to be a voice for residents like you and help shape our services.
  • Being an engaged resident is great for your CV, as you can show how you’re volunteering your time to help create a better experience for others.
  • Depending on your level of involvement, you could get opportunities to attend Housing conferences and events. You’ll be able to network with other social housing residents and those working in the sector.
  • We pay expenses, so you won’t be out of pocket if you travel to see us or attend an event.
  • If you need to arrange childcare, we can support you with the cost.
  • If you come to an in-person session, you’ll always be provided with refreshments.
  • Depending on what level of involvement you choose, you’ll be given IT equipment to help you take part.
